25-34 year old, 5’ 4”, 145 lb woman treated with liposuction of the of the abdomen and arms. These procedures are performed in just 90 to 120 minutes in the office, under local anesthesia. Patients go home the same day as surgery, do not need any narcotics postop for pain control, can get back to work and exercise in less than 24 hours, and results are seen immediately.

45-54 year old woman Arm fat typically never goes away. We see thin patients with large arms, and large patients with skinny arms. Don’t feel bad… in most instances, your arms are not about how disciplined you are… it is just the way you are, plain and simple. Fortunately, we can help! This amazing patient had done the hard work already, and had lost over 50 pounds with diet and exercise alone. She was currently 5’1”, 150 lbs. She wanted to take advantage of the new body that she had worked so hard for, and came in for a consultation for an IDEAL arm lift. These procedures are usually performed in the office, with only local anesthesia. We typically use Laser Liposuction or VASER (ultrasound) to reduce dense, fibrous fat, and stimulate collagen formation; Radiofrequency-based skin tightening (Pelleve) to maximize skin contraction; and High Energy Radial Pulse Technology, RF, or subcision (Cellfina) to treat cellulite. Patients go home the same day as surgery, do not need narcotics for pain control, and can return to light exercise and work two days after their procedure. We select the appropriate treatment for each patient based on their skin quality, amount of fat and surgical goals. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable.
