Whether you’ve been trying to achieve your ideal buttocks at the gym or you’re not interested in performing endless squats to achieve your ideal body, we can help. At DFW Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery in Southlake, TX, we offer the butt lift, a cosmetic procedure that augments the buttocks. We use implants, liposculpture, and non-surgical methods during this procedure, as well as a gluteal fat transfer through the Brazilian Butt Lift, a procedure also known as the BBL.
What Is a Butt Lift?
A butt lift is a cosmetic procedure that improves the appearance of the buttocks by naturally augmenting the area with both surgical and non-surgical techniques.
We offer different types of procedures and treatments to meet each patient’s needs, including the Brazilian Butt Lift, which uses a gluteal fat transfer to enhance the area, a buttocks augmentation with implants, a non-surgical augmentation with growth factors and dermal fillers, and the butt lift with liposculpture.
What Are the Benefits?
Patients who choose to undergo a buttocks augmentation can expect a completely customized procedure that meets their exact needs. Since we offer different versions of the butt lift, we help patients with different aesthetic goals, needs, preferences, and limitations reach their aesthetic ideals.
From surgical procedures to non-surgical treatments, we can customize the right option to help you achieve visible and lasting results. Some other benefits include the following:
- Tighter skin
- Improved volume and noticeably more fullness in the buttocks
- A more proportional shape
- Improved body contours
- Long-lasting and natural-looking results
The Brazilian Butt Lift: The Gluteal Fat Transfer
The BBL is a popular procedure that naturally adds volume to the buttocks through a gluteal fat transfer. During the procedure, your doctor uses liposuction to eliminate excess fat from a problem area on the body and then prepares it for injection into different areas of the buttocks to help you achieve your desired look.
Specialized Techniques To Ensure the Best Outcome
Your doctor uses special techniques that he’s developed to ensure that patients benefit from a gluteal fat transfer. He’ll take every measure to ensure that the fat is purified and all non-fat tissue is removed before re-injection into the buttocks. He also uses specialized techniques to increase the percentage of fat cells and progenitor fat cells, also known as stem cells, transferred to the buttocks.
His specialized techniques also boost the survival rate of transferred fat with each patient’s growth factors that are harvested during the procedure. These growth factors improve the viability of the fat cells and draw circulating stem cells from the blood to the tissue in the buttocks.
What Are the Benefits of the BBL?
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a popular procedure because it can improve two different body areas during a single surgery. Patients can expect the following benefits after undergoing a BBL:
- Natural-looking and long-lasting results
- No risk of an allergic reaction
- Reduced fat in the donor area
- Increased volume in the buttocks
- Improved buttocks shape
- Improved body contours
The Buttocks Augmentation With Implants
The buttocks augmentation with implants is a procedure during which your doctor inserts silicone-filled implants into each side of the buttocks. Patients can choose the shape and size of these silicone implants based on their preferences. These implants come in round and oval shapes and smooth and textured surfaces. They are made of safe, highly durable material that resists deflation and rupture.
This procedure provides more volume than a BBL and a more lifted projection. Patients can undergo this procedure even if they don’t have a certain amount of body fat, since it doesn’t rely on a fat transfer for results.
What Are the Benefits?
Patients considering a butt augmentation with implants can expect a fully customizable procedure and permanent results. Some other benefits include the following:
- Improved shape, size, and projection
- Permanent results
- Visible increase in volume and lift
The Non-Surgical Butt Lift
We also offer minimally invasive, non-surgical buttocks augmentation for patients who want to enhance size and shape but aren’t looking for dramatic changes in their overall appearance. We can use growth factors (PRP) harvested directly from the patient’s blood and combine them with an FDA-approved dermal filler to enhance the size of the area.
The PRP naturally stimulates collagen and elastin production to promote tighter and firmer skin and increase skin volume in the buttocks. The dermal filler will add a long-lasting and natural-looking volume to the area to improve the shape and size. Your doctor uses a specialized device to promote smoother skin by permanently treating cellulite on the buttocks and thighs during this treatment.
Liposculpture of the Buttocks
We also offer a liposculpture procedure during which we improve the appearance of the buttocks by targeting the surrounding area. We typically combine this technique with our other procedures to enhance the results, but it can also be performed independently. With liposculpture, your doctor can sculpt different body areas above and below the buttocks to improve and accentuate body contours and the overall figure.
For most patients, half of the procedure is designed to improve the appearance of the buttocks, while the other half is designed to sculpt the waist and thighs above and below the buttocks.
Who Is Eligible for a Butt Lift?
First and foremost, each of the above mentioned procedures and the several other butt lift approaches being practiced today are all different in terms of their indications (reasons to have them) and contraindications (reasons to avoid them). As such, consulting with a board-certified professional is the best way to comprehensively assess your unique case and determine your eligibility for any given procedure.
In your consultation, the surgeon will review your current health status in addition to your prior medical history, including any medications you’re on. They will also take into account your height and weight, tissue laxity around the intended treatment area, and more.
While your candidacy for a butt lift procedure is best determined on an individual basis, the following conditions and factors are likely to negatively impact your eligibility:
- Blood clotting disorders
- Skin cancer
- Certain medications
- Diabetes
- Morbid obesity (BMI > 40)
- Keloid scarring tendency
- Heart disease
Keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list, and not all of the points listed necessarily disqualify you from undergoing a butt lift procedure.
How Much Does a Butt Lift Cost?
The surgeon’s experience, clinic location, surgical approach, and several other factors can considerably affect how much you will be charged for a butt lift. Also keep in mind that consultation fees, facility fees, and other miscellaneous expenses may apply.
Insurance generally does not cover butt lifts, as they are deemed cosmetic in nature as opposed to medically necessary. Some cosmetic procedures are covered if they contain a reconstructive element, but butt lift is typically not the kind of procedure. The best way to accurately gauge how much your butt lift procedure will cost is to consult with your provider.
Choosing the Best Butt Lift Procedure for You
Are you looking to tone up a separate area of the body while enhancing your butt? Then a Brazilian Butt Lift might be the best option for you. Are there areas immediately surrounding your buttocks that could benefit from contouring? Then you may be recommended liposculpture. How dramatic of an enhancement are you looking for? This can affect whether you opt for a surgical or non-surgical butt lift approach.
All of these questions, among others, can help you to narrow down which butt lift procedure is best for you. This is another step of the process that is best undertaken along with your surgeon, as they may have valuable input to help inform a confident decision. Cost and your medical eligibility for the various butt lift treatment(s) may also determine which procedure works best.
Finally, while it’s easy to get excited about the aesthetic benefits of a butt lift procedure, it’s also important to take more logistical factors into account. For example, are you willing to replace or adjust your pants and other bottoms? Do you engage in vigorous exercise or other activities that may feel different with a butt lift?
Combining all of these considerations is the key to making the right decision. Our expert team at DFW Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery is here to guide you along every step of this reflection process.
What To Expect Out of Treatment
The first step in this process is your initial consultation, during which you will meet with your doctor to discuss the different options in detail. He’ll review your eligibility, reasons for undergoing the procedure, and desired outcome and answer any questions you may have. He’ll also learn more about your health status and lifestyle before recommending the best surgical or non-surgical option.
Patients who undergo a BBL or a buttocks augmentation with implants can expect the procedure to take anywhere from 90 minutes to four hours. We’ll provide details about what you can expect from your procedure once we customize your treatment plan.
Your Recovery
If you undergo a buttocks augmentation via a gluteal fat transfer or with implants, you’ll need to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks for several weeks to ensure long-lasting results. After a certain time, you’ll need to use a cushion when sitting and can expect to be up walking within one to two days after your procedure and resume your normal daily activities within six to eight weeks.
Butt Lift FAQ
-
Is BBL fat transfer permanent?
With diligent aftercare, a BBL can last a decade or even longer. As for the donor site from which the fat is extracted, those fat cells are permanently removed. However, this does not guarantee that remaining fat cells in the area won’t be able to expand due to diet. Similarly, the fat added to the buttocks is permanent, but aging and weight gain can still affect the size and shape of your buttocks over time.
-
What risks are associated with butt lift procedures?
Our team at DFW Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery follows stringent safety protocols to minimize risks as much as possible. That said, like all surgical procedures, butt lifts come with some risks, including risk of excessive bleeding, infection, adverse reactions to anesthesia, fat necrosis, and poor wound healing, among others.
-
Can sitting too much affect butt lift results?
Sitting directly on the buttocks within 2 to 4 weeks after butt lift surgery can negatively affect the results of your butt lift. During this time period, the newly transplanted fat cells are especially vulnerable to being damaged or displaced by the prolonged pressure associated with sitting. This may impair their ability to adhere to the surrounding tissues, which can negatively affect the shape of your buttocks. As soon as you are cleared by your surgeon, sitting should not affect your butt lift (though very consistent/prolonged sitting can affect everyone’s gluteal area).
-
Can weight loss harm my BBL results?on
Yes, larger weight loss fluctuations can cause the transplanted fat cells to reduce in size, in turn reducing the overall size of your buttocks. This process can also affect the shape of the buttocks, depending on the extent of the weight loss. It’s generally recommended to stay within 10 to 15 pounds of your starting (immediately post-surgery) weight to prevent these issues from occurring. Smaller fluctuations in weight should not bear any major impact on the results of your surgery.
-
Can I do squats after butt lift?
As soon as you’re cleared by your surgeon, which is typically within a 4 to 8 week window, you can return to exercises like squats, lunges, and bridges, all of which are ideal ways to enhance the effects of your butt lift. It’s important to ease into your routine gradually, stay hydrated and well-nourished during the recovery window, and always practice safe form.
